So like.. I have a 'friend' who maneuvered things around in colleges so he wouldn't pay out of state tuition. Is he screwed?

Isn't section 6(E) the citizenship thing??
All DA bills have this so please explain if someone did claim to a USC on a form then the candidate will still be able to adjust his/her status through the DA all the way to becoming a US Citizen?

Look USCIS is not 'all knowing'...they don't exactly have a database of all job applications they can search to see if you marked US citizenship somewhere. Could this affect your chances? Yes, but they would first have to find out about it. Obviously do not lie, but also do not offer the information unless they ask.

allow me to shed some light here. I9 forms are kept by employers. once you quit they save them for a year and then they are destroy. the only, i repeat, the only way you can get in trouble is if there was a raid at work and an ICE officer gets his/her hands on it. even when you get married uscis does not have access to all this files. they are just in case there are raids at your work.

What If you were never asked to file an I9 form? Or is the I9 something your employer files for you to the irs?

I didn't even submit a job application for my current job. They just took me on.

By law they have to keep the I-9 for a year. Do some keep it more then 1 year?
I do know that in the I-400, they ask you if you have ever claimed to a USC but in the I485 for GC, it does not.

So if you lied about claiming to be a USC you can still qualify for a GC just not citizenship?

Can someone please give me some examples of someone "claiming to be a USC"? Like, in what instances and such.
