Agreed,I also think it depends on if the applicant entered with US citizenship or falsely with a Green card. One should look here if either is the case surrounding "Matter of Orozoco" and "Matter of Areguillin"

When I get this lawyer, is it best that I tell him the truth about everything?

Im thinking he needs to talk to my father.I'm still a little clouded about my case as my parents I think have something to hide, as they come up with a new story everytime I ask for the truth.

You were a kid. You didn't do it intentionally. That's the whole "reason" we are all getting this temporary relief to begin with. We were all kids, and we didn't intentionally break the law when we came here. Just be honest and focus more on you as an adult and not on what happened when you were a kid.

If you came in with a US passport, that's a lifetime ban and it doesn't matter if you were a kid or not.. But if you came in with your country's passport that belong to someone else then you're fine.. if it was a US passport, please do not proceed with this process and you can't ever adjust

I came in on somebody else's passport to Canada (they were a Canadian citizen). Then i crossed the border (seperating Canada and America) yet on somebody else's passport (also Canadian citizen). So should i just tell them i am an EWI? I got sort of "caught" with this in Canada (later released), and if they did take my fingerprints there, would USCIS have access to stuff like that?

Hold on, did you use the name on the passport during the time you've been in the United States or did you use a different name? Also you need to have your parents tell you the truths. I know how Africans can be, I'm one but you've gotta have them tell you the truth about it all.

And you will need lawyer because we can't tell if you used a US passport or a Ghanian/Ecowas passport.

^This. It's a stupid law but it's one with NO waivers. Please OP find out what passport you used.

I have used my birth name my whole life. So the passport name was just to come here. the problem is that i never got the passport and my parents dont have the passport or even know the name I came with. Nor do they know the citizenship of the person I came here with. Of course this is a problem. I held huge resentment for a long time because I felt that they should have investigated a bit and at least have the passport, and for their lack of answers which left me infuriated. Im still learning to let go, although its hard knowing that it could play a big part in whether i get this or not.

I wish I could get them to say anything. But they give me half answers when asked. Its exhausting. Ever since I figured out my status, its just been so hard to get them to even open up to me about how they know so little. I just told my dad that Im going to get a lawyer and he said hes already talking to a couple.

Anyway, I need to take a breather cuz even typing this pisses me off.

Oh I want to make it clear that when I first came here I lived with the woman I came here with for a few weeks in NY before I came to VA to live with my parents.
