Wait, are you sure about this? It would save me a lot of trouble, but according to google & the USCIS website, we need a government id (even a foreign one)... Maybe they will make an exception for us?

Ok for now I think that my best option is to get a Washington ID and use that for the biometrics.
You can't get a WA driver license without a passport. It's one of the requirement for undocumented immigrants.

We had a client who got biometrics done with it because she had nothing else. It got weird looks, but that was all she had. Worst comes to worst, they may have TPS ID requirements, which you can check out by going to the "What to File" section here:

The requirements for us might be different, we are in a unique position, so I wouldnt rush into anything just yet. The approved deffered action might be all that is needed to obtain a work permit, who knows. It sucks about your consulate and their lack of help, unfortunately India is a very bureocratic nation :S
Check your PMs, I sent you some information on a lawyer who will give you the best answers out there.

I really hope the BC & the school ID is enough... I guess I'm going to have to wait until the details are out.
Thanks!

Perhaps the only way to apply for the passport would be to try gaining it on compassionate grounds as you get it the same day.

Hey, I'm in the same boat . There are a few points I have to make, but take them with a grain of salt since 1) I haven't started my case yet 2) I know this has no bearing, but in my humble opinion, you might not need a passport...since a lot of us dreamers didn't enter legally. The EAD would leave out too huge a chunk of us if undocumented were required to have documents...I know it's asking a lot, but please don't stress yourself out over this. We don't know exactly what we need yet

I'll give you some background on my situation, I was also brought here through a fraudulent Visa. I'm from Bangladesh, and people from the Embassy fly here every year. Maybe the Indian Embassy does that too? hopefully, since they're similar regions...anyway, I got a valid passport pretty easily, and I didn't have any documents to show. When we called them though, the rules were the same, they need certain docs, but have your parents go with you if you can see them irl, and let them do the browntalking- or w/e persuasive methods Fobs have with Fobs. Anywho,This would probably be helpful for EAD, but don't be discouraged and don't give up if you cant get it. Never give up.

Currently, the only way someone like us could legal status is to get married, and successfully file for a Visa-Fraud Waiver. I spoke with a couple lawyers and this is the only option they presented. Feel free to do your own research, and we can keep each other updated on what we find. Also, these Visa type Waivers go hand in hand with marriage-based naturalization. I already asked if I could waive the Fraud, and get my identity straight before marriage, and the answer was no :\.

So yeah, that was my experience with this situation. Maybe we can add each other on some social thingy, and keep each other informed on what we find?

I came in without any type of document besides my kindergarden ID and birth certificate. Last week I got my passport at the Mexican Consulate. All they asked me for was my birth certificate, School transcript, and bill mailed to my residency. They told me that I had to get a Mexican consulate card, which is a government ID to get a passport, they charged me 100 extra but it all worked out. Just call your birth country's consulate and they will help you out.

I got it within an hour without any issues.

We have to remember that EVERY country is different so it's not that simple for all of us.

My own country gave me so many problems and issues when I was trying to renew my passport even though I had the right documentation.

I hope the OP can find a workable solution.
