How are ya'll making your copies?

This may be a silly question, but I have many, many documents to copy, and I don't know whether it would be best to do it at home on my printer, or to go the library or Kinkos and pay for individual copies?

I'm thinking I'll be copying about 75+ items. I know it's a lot, but I want to copy as much stuff as I can, just in case they don't take some documents. I've never had to make so many copies before.


How are you guys doing your copies? Any tips?

I'm so nervous, I feel like my stomach will burst! Ha ha.

I need to finally get a printer ... My old one broke down a year ago and I still haven't replaced it. Right now I'm stuck with using staples every time I need something printed, pain in the ass.

Still it's probably a better idea to scan every important document and save a copy of it, even should you lose the original you can still print out a copy.

Do not get printers...

I went to OfficeMax and had lots of copy's made and it was like $5.00 but if you buy a printer is going to be like $30-60 and that's the cheapest and if you use all your ink your going to have to buy more and it cost from $15-30 so that y i went to OfficeMax

75 items wow...I have a much fewer. I would suggest an Office Depot (or similar store), because u have the option to get important documents copied in colored (like your Passport or Birth Certificate if urs is as colorful as the one they give out in Jamaica). Also i would suggest u also get them notarized, before u send them in...that's what im gonna do anyways.

I dont have nearly as much to copy as u (or a lot of others have). Im trying to keep it short and sweet, but u guys have me feeling unprepared. So far i have the following...

For Identification/Birthdate
1. Passport
2. Birth Certificate
3. ITIN (I dont think i need to send this, but it cant hurt)

June 15th
1. A one page letter i received from my bank that luckily has the June 15th date on it.

Arrived before 16th Bday
1. My HS transcript, which i wont be copying. Im going to send them the unopened envelope.

Proof of Past 5 Years
1. Just a 2 page (notarized) letter i received from my church to verify i have been in the country.

I think i have enough evidence, but u guys have me thinking i dont have enough when i hear people have like like 75+ items to copy. U have me now thinking i might need to gather more proof. Lol

A much easier option to decide is by cost. How much does each copy cost? Times that by the amount of copies you need. It’s a mainly a matter of cost efficiency. Best route might be to make a digital copy of everything and only make one extra copy. That way you can print more as needed.

75 things to copy… Makes me wonder what the average amount of supporting documents will be sent in per person.

Allright, so we'll need copies? What if I have an official transcript sealed? Should I open that?

That will not be enough proof for the last five years

It says so on the guidelines and it was also mentioned in the conference call. Affidavits can be used for the purpose of supplemental evidence, in the event that you have solid proof for 2 or 3 of the five years and need something extra to fill in the gaps. And even in that case its good to have two affidavits (maybe from 2 separate members of your congregation) from different sources.

An affidavit alone can not be used as proof of continuous residence here for those 5 years. See if you can find medical records or anything else that you can attach to those affidavits.

*EDIT: And you DON'T need 75 items lol your list seems similar to mine, save for the 5 years thing, I have a two year gap that I will be getting affidavits for.
