I'm concerned.. so i have circumstantial evidence i have been in the U.S since i was in Pre-school. There is just one very BIG problem. There is a problem with my name. So all my life K-9th grade my name in my school records was misspelled. My mom tried various times to get in corrected. She even lost my original Birth Certificate due to leaving it at my elementary school for them to fix it. We never got it back. On top of that they never fixed it.. So basically when 9th grade came around my mom really decided to go get it fixed. Long story short. My name, as it is on my birth certificate, was corrected but it was corrected when i entered the 10th grade. So my high school diploma has my real name. My middle school diploma has my incorrect name. All my awards and certificates i received in elementary have my incorrect name. I have immunization records showing my real name though when i was younger though? I'm going to talk to a lawyer soon about this. For the meantime, anyone know what can i do or know what is going to happen? will i have a problem applying for DACA ?

Talk to a lawyer to see what they say. Also, you can wait for August 15th to ask USCIS if it will be an issue. Your move.

Yeah i already have an appointment set up on the 15th with a lawyer. I'm hoping this does not screw me over. I'll be so mad. I'm good when it comes to showing evidence from 2005-2011 though with my real name. i got my high school transcipts and college transcripts. Just my incorrect name from K-9th is what is messed up.

I m pretty sure they will understand that your schools made a mistake since you have proof of your real name on other documents.

Yea definitely talk to a lawyer, but I would make sure you have your original birth certificate.

Also, I always thought that your original birth certificate was never given out by the government. Since they will need it to issue more copies?

How incorrect is it? Is it like John instead of David or Jon instead of John?

I'm saying this because my sixth grade report cards happen to be the only report cards where my school used my nickname instead of my full name. My other report cards have my full name that matches my birth certificate, so I know that USCIS can just infer that I didn't doctor my sixth grade report cards.

I have no idea about that original birth certificate being handed out by the government? All i know is that i do not have my original birth certificate. Just a copy that is notarized. Do i need my original birth certificate ?
