So guys, I'm sure someone might've asked this but.... I live with my mother and I don't work. I am currently in college full-time and my mother usually pays for everything essentially. So I was wondering if I should put 0 as my annual income ? The thing is, my mother sort of gives me an "allowance" just for emergency purposes, which is the little amount of money I have on my bank account at the moment. I will be stating that amount as my asset and that's basically all I have under my name. But my point is, does that allowance count for income? even though I don't really work ? As far as expenses, I am putting down College tuition and cell phone bill amount, which are the only two bills that are directly under my name and I plan on explaining of course that my expenses are higher than that considering food, transportation etc... Any advices on what counts as what?

You don't want to lie about your income on the form, so a suggestion would be to list your actual income, expenses, assets - then use the space provided to explain how you need the work permit to work legally. Plus by giving you the permit, your income becomes taxable income, which I'm sure they'll take in consideration.
Holy Crap Miss or Sir, you just made my day. I have been wondering the same thing and that is probably the perfect answer. Thanks so much!

I misplaced my High School Diploma. Would my transcript be enough to show that I graduated from HS?

An allowance is actually not considered income because it's technically a "gift," and the person who gives it to you has already paid taxes for it in one way or another. So your income equals zero. Money in your bank account is in fact considered an asset so keep that the way you have it. And as far expenses go, your tuition and phone bill is also correct.

Now think about it, college expenses + phone bill will probably be in the 5 digit mark, compare that to your not so awesome income of zero, and you've got yourself a work permit

Mail the original affidavit, the original translation, and a copy of your original birth certificate.
