Both my US tourist VISA and my Guatemalan passport have the same birth date so I'm guessing I don't need a birth certificate as they both prove that it's my right birth date?

Thank you!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too, because my friend was told by his lawyer that a birth certificate is necessary?

Can anyone answer this, please?

It wouldn't hurt to also submit the birth certificate. Of course, you should only submit a copy of it and keep the original for yourself. Just to make sure that there won't be any question that you are who you are.

Dreamer91 is right. It will only help your application to submit your birth certificate. Make sure you have it translated by an accredited institution, however.

You can use foxtranslate.com they offer a great service and you can do it online.
