The worst that will happen is they send the package back, you check the box off and send it in again. It will just delay things, but it won't mess up your chances. I almost made the same mistake. I happened to catch it right before I was about to print out the copy I was sending.

I actually almost managed to screw up as well. I had already sealed my package and was getting ready to deliver it when I suddenly somehow came to realize that I had forgotten to sign the check. I just suddenly got the feeling that something was missing.

I never use checks since I pay for everything online. I got lucky to have been able to catch that minor oversight in time.

They will NOT deny the application. Worst case scenario they will return it as "Incomplete", so you might only suffer some delay, that is all.

I almost messed up too! When checking my application I thought I had everything correct, but then I felt something was not right. It just came out of my head to ask my mom, "how do you spell the city I was born in?" it turned out I was putting a" z" where an "s" was supposed to be. I then corrected this, printed out the form, and just as I was re-checking, and placing everything inside the folder I caught that mistake of not marking what application I was applying for.. Then I got it corrected, and re-checked my paper 5 more times. Also that question about a previous application, asking for "Which USCIS office?" Should be changed to "If you have previously applied for work authorization, what office was your application summited to?" I just hope many of us didn't get tricked, because that would delay our process.

I really think you'll be fine because on the application you specified that you haven't gotten a work permit before. But who's to say how that agency worked; I've never dealt with them before.

you won't be denied but they might return your application so you can fix it yourself

Im just hoping its that one application returned to me, and they keep all my evidence and my other applicatons.

And I am also hoping I don't have to wait weeks for them to send the returned application, that would be a stressful couple of weeks....

Heres hoping!

You just have to assume that the application will be analyzed by thinking and rational people not computers. I'm sure they will realize what your application is for and won't deny you based on the fact that you forgot to write a letter or two. That would be cruel on their part.

I think we all have similar fears. After all it's probably the most important package many of us will ever send in our lives, so we all fear making some stupid mistake.

Take my case for example, I addressed my envelope to:

USCIS
Attn: DACA
131 S. Dearborn – 3rd Floor
Chicago, IL 60603-5517

and did not write: USCIS Chicago Lockbox Facility

Now I sit here unsure if I made a mistake or not and whether or not they'll get the package.

It depends, did you send it by USPS Express or Courier? Then you are good. If not then you didn't address it properly, but it's still going to the right place. I suppose it depends on whoever is accepting packages and how strict they are.
