I'm trying to stay optimistic fellow Texans!!!
http://www.texastribune.org/immigrat...state-policie/

According to this article Perry is pandering to the 'right' while leaving the door open for us to get a driver's license. (deep inside I know he doesn't wanna deny us DL's. Remember he had the courage to defend the Texas DA, the first in the nation, and I thank him for that)

To put it another way: we get the EAD, but no visa to proof our legal status.

That's what I'm thinking they'll do.

Since the EAD itself lists how you obtained it (see my other thread), state personnel will know you got yours under DACA, and, thus, know you don't have legal status.

TPS, I'm not sure, but may be considered "legal status" for these purposes, since it's technically designated by Congress.

In essence, they could accept EADs from all other categories, except those from C33 -- DACA beneficiaries.

Now, whether a federal ruling can forbid or overturn this is another story.
Their not going to do that, all the statement is a political move.
Perry is probably the most immigrant friendly republican.

It definitely looks like a political move. But still I'm sad.

That's wt I gather from the news article yet the actual news on tv made it sound like it was a def no. Right now you can get DL only for the amount of time that the EAD is valid.
