Can someone let me know what you need to bring to a biometrics appointment? My passport is expired. Should I go to my consulate and get it renewed? Or just get a consular ID?

You need the letter they send you with the appt info and a form of ID such as a passport. It also lists license, residence card, etc. Stuff that doesn't apply to us. I've read a couple of posts of people saying a current/valid passport is not required and that an expired one can be used. Uh.... why would anybody wanna risk being turned away for taking an expired passport after everything we've gone thru is beyond me. In my opinion you should renew your passport.

Lol you act like some of us wanna take in expired passports just because we like to tempt fate and/or because we're too lazy/impatient to renew our passports. Remember that not every country makes it easy for anyone outside their borders to get/renew their passports. For example, the Indian embassy only renews passports if you live here legally. If not, you need to go back to India and renew it. See the problem there?

Kid, i stated my opinion, didn't discuss the problems anyone could have obtaining their passport nor did i say anyone was lazy.
