I just turned 27 and for some reason I just remember about the SS during the whole DACA, it has never crossed my mind before, but I knew I had to register. Does anyone know if I can still register? I'm planing on getting married and I don't want this to come back and bite me.

Nope.

You have to send in the Registration Status Letter.

I'm calling tomorrow and getting my Registration number again, I did it so long ago I don't remember where I put that paperwork.

I've been googling and it seems if your're over 26 and never registered, your SOL.
SSS doesn't can't register you after 26 y/o.

I don't think you can register at this point. However, during a webinar I asked if it would interfere with DACA and one of the lawyers said no because failing to register with the selective service is not a crime. I dunno what the requirements are for a spouse petition (if that's what you meant with getting married) and if it would affect it, but I doubt it.

Information DIRECTLY FROM MY ATTORNEY.

You can apply for selective service until you are 32 years old. Between 26-32 it will be REJECTED, however you can still register for it (youre supposed to for future immigration purposes) and you'll have a letter saying you applied but it was rejected which is what you will need in the future.

He also said that in his 25 years of practice, the only time he had to deal with selective service was for citizenship apps.

And it's a pre-req for Dream Act, hence the worried.

Right, so as long as youre under 32, you should do this asap. Since OP is 27, he/she is still clear and has time to do it. SS is not a requirement for daca though i can understand why some people are opting to input that information in their packets.

I was in the same boat as u, however i didnt know about it at all until i read about it on this forum. Because u are illegal i would assume ur dad is also illegal so they may give u leniency. Don't worry too much about it, it can harm u if u knew about it and chose not to sign up. However for people who truly did not know about it they will give u leniency. Just explain the situation, and hope for the best.
