Why would the USCIS schedule appointment dates if they intended it to be a free for all/ anything goes situation. At the end of the day, do what you want to do, it's just sound advice to follow the rules and system in place, that's all. |

They give you a form to fill out... with your personal info and to input receipt numbers etc.
You turn it in and they give you a number...
They call your number... They scan your notice and all your personal info appears on their computers... from name, country of birth, program name... etc... They double check everything to see its good to go...
Then they take your fingerprints first.... They you have to do your signature... and finally they take the photo...
And thats it... You get your notice back with a stamp on it saying you have done your biometrics... and you are good to go... the process once your number gets called does not last more than 15 minutes...

Can you describe how your biometric appointment went? general questions they ask, info you provided, pictures, docs, etc...
