AND im very unsure about the matricula, so i suggest getting a passport from the consulado, many people cancel appointments so you can take their spot you can call anytime...

If you want to live in Manhattan (which I recommended you do NOT), make sure you have a good paycheck! A tiny studio will be at least $1000 unless you live in one of the sketchy neighborhoods (then maybe $800). Finding a roommate is best!
