Hey I also live in NYC. But how do you have your biometrics completed if your appointment is for 9/25? You can just walk in before?!!!

You missed the MEMO.

Yet this is a very sensitive subject here, people get hurt easily about 'Walk In's'

I'm from Massachusetts too, but I hadn't received my biometrics appt by Friday. I didn't check my mail over the weekend, I'll check tonight when I get home. Hopefully it'll be there.

Yes. One receipt is for your I-821d, and the other is for the I-765.

This is not correct. If you make more than $600 then your employer is required to report it if you worked as a subcontractor/1099/casual labor. If you worked with a W2 (they withheld SS/Medicare/etc) then they have to report it no matter what.

Either way, the requirement for individuals is completely different. If you made more than $400 as a subcontractor/1099 then you have to file (you won't pay income tax, but you'll owe SS/med, but you might also be able to get some credits). If you did not work as a subcontractor, then the limit could be over 9K depending on individual circumstances (check out the IRS website for the specific limit http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Do-Yo...Tax-Return%3F- and follow the yes/no questions at the bottom)
