Did not follow directions.....?

The lady who prepared and filed my forms wrote on the money order "uscis" instead of "department of homeland security", i did not notice this until after the packet was mailed and she gave me a copy of everyhting that was sent. She did not include a table of contents and also told me the 2 passport photos were not necessary because i would have my picture taken in biometrics. Do you think theres going to be a problem?

So far people that have sent their app and no photos got their application approved. But I really don't know about the name on the MO.

this is happening with must of the lawyers but I hope we don't get rejected..

UGH u guys must understand that majority of immigration lawyers KNOW where to send the money, they are if not most proficient when it comes to money. My lawyer did the same and put USCIS, trust me its ok. Everything will be approved

Yeah I've heard of many people forgetting to include their photos and still getting a receipt notice, not necessarily that the application was approved but that it is complete. I think they use the pics from the biometrics for the work permit, but since the directions said to include the pics... better safe than sorry.

worse comes to worst, they will send back your packet and request to correct it if necessary. A few dreamers here have already had that experience. I also read that if you got your G-1145 notification (if you filed for one) and your I-797, then there wasn't any problem with your application, so be on the lookout for that too.

BTW...I think the photos are only for application purpose because they want to see what you currently look like upon sending it (within 30 days to be exact). I am %100 sure they don't use it for the EAD....I know people who have had one, and the pictures are not frontal....but I'm not sure about the biometrics. If they take your pictures there...as what a lot have said...then they're not using your passport photos for anything else other than the application.

There was a previous post about someone who accidentally abbreviated instead of writing it out. Their application was still accepted.

They've also mentioned there's a phone number you can call to see if your money order has been cashed yet.

Just to give you a time estimate. I sent my package on the 25th it arrived on the 28th I got text/email notification on the 31st and my cash was checked today. Keep in mind there was a holiday and a weekend in between.

Once you receive a text/email or your notifications thru the mail that'll be confirmation that everything was filled correctly. It's only after your biometrics that they actually start to look at your file more in detail.

I just got my I-797c notices right now in the mail! it says payment received and the next step is biometrics. I guess it doesnt matter if you include the photos or put "uscis" or "department of homeland security" on the money order
