The account status not being updated is irrelevant at this point.
The process clearly states that I821D approval will make I765 approval possible.
USCIS has been known not to make updates even after you have received a notice or a card.
It's something we have to deal with, it might be the case that he's the first acceptance and they missed it.

Im not hating, but again we are already given the chance to show them we are law abiding people.. And doing walk-ins just to get ahead isnt really the right way to do it.. It just so happens that the OP was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to do it early. But can you imagine hundreds of dreamers every week walking in for their biometrics without appointments? There will be an outrage in the biometric centers. Lol next thing you know, we're on Fox news saying how we cant ever follow the rules.

This is amazing and happening extremely faster than we all anticipated. With that being said, iDream makes a great point. Word will spread that doing a walk-in will help speed up your process. Clearly by comments on this thread that will only encourage more and more people to do walk-ins. A few people doing walk-ins is no big deal but if everyone starts to show up unexpectedly at biometrics centers then this could have a negative impact for all of us. Just follow the rules and go on your scheduled appointment.

If it started affecting others they'd simply disallow it eventually. The officers are aware of the volume of people coming in, which explains why some people allowed to do walk-ins at any given time and others are not. If the opportunity is present, everyone should grab it while it lasts.

And to those feeling paranoid about making a bad impression towards the conservative fucks--we didn't get here because of their support and we are sure not going to get any preferential treatment if and when they win the White House.

That is the best news I have heard since June 15 2012! What did you tell them for doing your biometrics early? I will definitely do a walk in as well.

It certainly is great news! I know this thread has many pages, but this question has been answered a couple times on this thread. It's taxing work to go through page by page, but the search function should help out. It will keep the thread relevant if the same questions aren't asked and answered over and over.

In either case, I simply walked in and mentioned that I had read online that walk-ins were possible if there were cancelled appointments or if people missed their date. I was told this was untrue, but was allowed to proceed to the fingerprinting process. Most likely because the support center was very large and including myself, there were only 3 people.
