Where I went, I don't even think we had a guard. When I got to the lady, I told her if I could do a walk and she immediately said "SURE" and stamped my sheet. I don't even think she let me finish my sentence.

The whole process took about 10 minutes for me.

Now, my appt. was scheduled for next Wednesday at NOON but I went yesterday at 8am.

My suggestion is: get there BEFORE they open. You will see people there but not too many and things should go smoothly.

Nope nothing risky at all. Worst Case scenario is that they are packed and won't be able to do walk ins; which is why you should get there when they open

I'm in Georgia, but my last valid state issued id was from Michigan

So my appointment was next week at 9 am; I figured if I showed up around the same time it wouldn't be an issue. Turns out I did have an issue...

When I got there at 9 the guard was like, "do you have your passport or birth certificate?" and I was like, "no I thought I only needed a state issued ID"; then he was like, "step to the side for moment" while he took my id and my receipt. As I'm waiting I look around and see a ton of people waiting inside and a line was slowly building behind me as the guard walked off and gave my information to someone. When he came back I'm thinking, "Yes! I can get through" turns out he lets everyone behind me go ahead of me instead. This whole time I'm just thinking, "this is great, they're only worried about my id and not that I'm here a week early"; trying to stay positive.

After 5-10 minutes of waiting for the guard to tell me something, he walks off and disappears. Then a totally different guard takes his spot. So I immediately tell him my situation and ask, "even though it will take me forever to get back here, do I need to come back with my passport?", he then says, "nope, because you're going to jail!!" .... j/k he didn't say that instead he said, "no, because you used an out of state ID it will take us a few more minutes to verify its authenticity". True to his word, I was in line for my biometrics 5 minutes later. I had 26 people ahead of me, so it took 26 minutes until they got to me.

So all in all, walk with one or all of the following:
  • Passport
  • Original Birth Certificate
  • State Issued ID
What time did you go? I was there at 9:00 am today but I didn't think there were any other dreamers everyone looked old lol
