let assume that dream act has not passed in the next 4 year and the next president will not renewal our authorize social security card. Thus, our authorize security card expire.

can i apply for job just by put in social security card number only?
do most employer ask to see your social security card or they dont care as long as you have numbers?
will employer be able to find out that i cant not work legally for my social security card has expired?

I think when you apply to any kind of job, they do a background check on you, right? So they will notice you got a temporary Work Permit and it expired. (Which I doubt they wont let us renew it).
And they must also check your SSN, it only makes sense.

Some employers check. Some dont. It depends on who your employer is and what job it is exactly. If you are hired to be a cook or dishwasher, employers tend to look the other way. If it is for a better position, then they will most likely check.

Small companies rarely do BG checks unless its for a managerial position. Large corporations with a lot of resources often do background checks.

I worked in the Restaurant industry for many years and held managing positions. I also hired people. I dont ever recall our HR department doing a background check on anyone or even E-verifying their ss #.

Not that I've experienced. Background checks vary also from company to company and most usually only do so on if you have a criminal record not necessarily concerning your status.

Social Security will also have a record of what document you used to showcase "work authorization" in the US.Thus,if a company or employer had the resources they can find out simply by using your social security number.

I would say it might depend on the location and type of company, so there is no solid answer. But most companies are required to file I-9 Form for Employment Eligibility. If your employer is connected to the SSA database, then yes they can find out if you can work legally. If not, who knows..

I don't know about working as a dishwasher or cook but if you are applying for a big company or any institution that doesn't hire illegals you have to show your social card. They don't ask for it during interviews but until they have hired you. They will ask to make a copy of your ID and social security card. You have to show the original documents. Of course every company does differ but mostly that has been my experience.
