There's no way 800,000 people would apply at once. Many people are waiting to see how the program turns out, or can't afford it, or are collecting documents.

I'm sure that applications will ramp up in the next few months now that people have seen the results, and after Obama is reelected (say what you will about that one), they will get even more applications.

Minus the cost of processing, employees and their training, office, office staff etc.

Lets remember USCIS hired and trained 1400 employees for this process. I bet they are in a deficit right now as the number of expected applicants was much higher.

So If I did my biometrics on the 12th and this data represents period from Aug 15th - Sep 13th, do you think I'm one of the 1660 people?

Out of 1,660 applicants, only 29 have been approved so far.
I just hope they keep up the pace.

I think its funny that people are making fun of their pace, not realizing that out of those 1600 eligible for review, most of them barely got their biometrics done in this past week, when the first appointments came around. obviously its gonna increase from 29 per week when they actually have more cases to review (which is now, after the day this was released)

It was never mentioned that 1.4 million were going to apply, it was a number to state that 1.4 million were potential beneficiaries.

This....I think 5-10% of the possible Dream act population applying in under 1month is statistically quite a bit.

They're also waiting to see who would win the presidential race.
