Seriously though, I think I asked a fair question earlier... Why do immigrants even live in Arizona? Are these the same people that like to be in an abusive relationship?

Mexico didn't lose that territory in a war... It was sold for a sack of potatoes and some jelly beans.

As far as dreamers go, a number of the az dreamers im sure were brought by their parents to the state, and its hard to uproot yourself from family/friends and move to another state, specially without documentation.

You have to understand that even though the legislature isnt, the community is very immigrant (specially hispanic) friendly. There are parts of phoenix where you dont need english at all to be successful. You even get less hassle from businesses/renters/etc because they are used to dealing with people without documents.

I dont encourage it, but theres definitely a support system from the community.

As for daca beneficiaries, im sure for a lot of us the plan is to move if approved, but that takes time, research, and money. So being able to drive in the meantime would be handy.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not trying to sound like an asshole, its a real question I have. I understand the kids attached to parents ordeal, but why do the parents move there?

It must be one hell of a community if its worth the stay even though every single piece of law that gets passed is 100% unflinchingly against those very people.

Well you have to consider the demographic of most of the undocumented people in the az area. They're not usually doctors/lawyers/highly educated/skilled people who come over set to learn the language immediately and then run into the legality problem. They're for the most part lower-income families who are EWI and are running from much worse conditions (and I don't mean to generalize, it's just my viewpoint from observing/interacting).

The community and the ease of transition draws a lot of them here (as well as the geographic advantage, as you can imagine), because it really is easy to "make it" even with rudimentary/no English. Once you set down roots, you run into the same problem anyone runs into when moving, leaving your income/friends/community, and so they stay.

It's vicious circle. The community makes it easy to start and become attached to living in AZ, the legislature makes it hard to keep living in AZ.

So isn't the Governor's "executive order" now contradicting state law then? -_-
According to this....it seems like.
This will be a strong ammunition against her if her EO is to be challenged, which, I hope happens soon.

Likely, but then that's gonna cause her another problem. Prop 300 says a form of document such as a work permit is acceptable, and that's why MCC was able to allow and release a statement about in-state for DACA applicants who will be able to get one. She'd have to issue another EO that goes against the law that was passed by the public voters, which, I think will be tougher.

Wow, it's just messed up how they went out of their way include that EADs are accepted as a primary proof of identification for a driver's license and right below it "An Employment Authorization Document resulting from a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is not acceptable."
