Thanks a lot, bud. I don't know why I never thought to look at FAU. UF and FIU are not as detailed with their in-state tuition information and their applications do not mention deferred action.

Me too! Took me SIX LONG YEARS to finish my AA because of the tuition rate (Had to take only one class a semester sometimes smh). Congrats on being accepted to FIU and good luck!

I'm going to FAU. They seem to be really willing to allow students who don't normally qualify for in-state tuition to receive the in-state rate. Examples: Those who have been granted deferred action, temporary protected status, and even those from other states and international students. Check it out if you're interested.

It's not all Florida Universities though... I only checked FAU because it would be an easy transition for me. i was pleasantly surprised to see that I would qualify for in-state tuition. Other schools need to start implementing it though because Florida is one of the states that has a high population of Dreamers. They could actually make more money by us enrolling vs. us not enrolling because of the cost. Just my opinion.

Gosh I'm posting so much... Anywho, here's the link to FIU's residency guidelines if anyone wants to read the whole thing.

And here's the important part...

d. Individuals granted temporary protected status.
e. Individuals granted withholding of deportation status.
f. Individuals granted suspension of deportation status or cancellation of removal.
g. Individuals granted a stay of deportation status.
h. Individuals granted deferred action status.
i. Individuals granted deferred enforced departure status.
j. Applicants for adjustment of status.
6
k. Asylum applicants with U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services receipt or Immigration Court stamp.

What if I moved to Florida for a year or so and applied at a university there would I qualify even though I graduated high school from another state and attented a semester at a university at another state? Or is that not possible since I didn't graduate from a high school in that state, cause I have seen the guidelines for some in state tuition from other states and they explicitly state that you need to graduate from a high school from that state...that is if I get approved for daca of course.
