im looking at the USCIS page and this is what is said

To request that USCIS consider deferring action, on a case-by-case basis, based on guidelines described in the Secretary of Homeland Security's memorandum issued June 15, 2012. Deferred action is a discretionary determination to defer removal action of an individual as an act of prosecutorial discretion. Individuals who receive deferred action will not be placed into removal proceedings or removed from the United States for a specified period of time. Individuals filing Form I-821D must also file Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, and Form I-765WS, Form I-765 Worksheet.Number of Pages :Form 6; Instructions 9.Edition Date :8/15/2012Where to File :

Filing Fee :The total fee for Forms I-821D, I-765 and the I-765WS is $465. This fee includes a $380 fee for Form I-765 and an $85 biometric services fee.

a lot sorry, but im confused why everyone is taking about "I797", where is that? what is that? Im already having a hard time understanding these forms above...lol lost

oh and do you guys who already have done your biometrics, do they really charge you the 85$??

I 797 is the receipts you get after you file.

I-797 is a letter from from USCIS. Basically just a notice of action. In the DACA process the first I-797 is a letter saying they've received your application.

1) I797 is a form you receive from USCIS AFTER you send in your application. It is a form to notify you of things. You get a 797 notice from them when they have accepted and processed your I-821D and I-765. You also get one from them when they schedule a biometrics from you. Its nothing for you to fill out, its for USCIS purposes only to notify you.

2) The 465 you include with your application covers the "85", no need to worry about it. Just make sure you send the 465 with your application.

Yes they really do charge $ 85. You have to pay the $85 along with the $380 which must be payed by check or money order included and mailed with your package. If you do not include the fees your applications wont be processed. Once you go in for your biometrics you dont have to pay $85 since you already payed when you submitted your applications.
