They just go by your word. If you say you are USC, they let you go. Hell, they can't even ask for ID.
An Immigration checkpoint isn't a lawful detainment. You are not required to identify yourself if you are not being detained and the only way you can be legally detained if is there is reasonable suspicion that you are committing a crime.
Again, I was replying to your other comment, this is for someone who is a USC, or claims to be, it has nothing to do with DACA.

I don't know about this. If you already left the country, they don't have to deport you. They just don't have to let you in.
Plus, if you do renew your DACA application after two years, you will be answering the same questions.....
1) did you leave the country for any amount of time - they might be able to check? not sure.
