If you are planning to do a walk in at the Woodside ASC, please think twice. I have read some good post biometrics walk in reviews on that specific location, but it seems like as the day goes by less and less people are getting allowed for walk in. In fact, my sister and I went on this Monday for a walkin and got rejected on the spot even with a valid reason (if having a surgery on the first week of October which will not allow me to go about for the following week is not valid enough). If the lady at the front desk (who happened to be chinese for my case), refered you to another person such as a supervisor, you are most likely to get denied. They will tell you that there are more than 350+ people scheduled for any given day, not to mention another 70+ people with open appointment who basically can just walk in whenever they feel like. (which was really funny since when we got there at around 2:00pm, there were only three people sitting around in the waiting area. Even the security guards told me that there is nobody in the center so it should take very fast) They will tell you to reschedule no matter what your excuse is. On the other hand, if you are lucky enough, you can go complete your biometrics without any hassle.

BTW, the security guards at woodside checked EVERYTHING in your bag. He even opened and checked my wallet and makeup bag. If I hadn't cleaned my bag before I left for my bio on that day, I could have been really embarrassed with some of my stuffs.

I had to try my walkin at three different locations before I could finally get my fingers on that scanning machine. So, for those who have not done your bio, good luck

We both had total opposite experiences.

The security guards were cool, just told me to take off my belt and put my bag through the scanner. Then he said "alright man, youre good to go its to the left"

So that chinese lady asked me why as well. I told her I have work and it was a holiday (i did this yesterday). Before she even asked for proof i whipped out my Internship ID and once she saw it was affiliated with a hospital she said ok. She didnt even look at my passport. She handed me the form. Afterwards I had this guy who looked at my passport. He did joke around with me a bit and did ask one of the ladies beside us "werent we supposed to stop accepting walkins?" while i was walking back with my ticket number.

Don't be, I went there on a friday at noon as well. The security was a hispanic female as well as the guy taking the fingerprints. Just walk up to her and don't explain to her you're doing a walk-in, she knows and its not interested. Just have your passport and appointment letter out. When I went there was only 3 people ahead of me.

Im assuming they asked you why youre walking in? What type of reasoning did you provide? It might help those who are debating (ive already listed my experience here)

Can confirm Westchester ave is still cake. walked in at 2:05 left at 2:20.

Told guard I was in for Biometrics, he asked for my notice and ID, and that was it. Gave me a form to fill, then gave me a number and told me to wait. I was number 814, and they were serving 813. I'd barely sat down when I was called. Lady who did the picture and scan was a cool cat, and we chatted about the days when she did her work with ink.

USCIS is one smooth machine.

I did a walk in this morning at the Jamaica service center. I walked in at 8 am, there was only like 10 people. I was in and out in 15 minutes. The guard asked me why I was going before my appointment and I just told him I was gonna be out of town on that day and he just said ok and that was it.
