You sure about that?

I thought it said "Not valid for work, unless authorized by DHS" or "Not valid for work, Only with DHS authortization."

I went to the SSA today and applied for a SSN. The guy was ecstatic and said that he'd been hoping he'd meet one of us (Dreamers) and that I was his first one. He said he was so glad that Obama passed something to help us and hopes something more permanent passes in the future.
Anywho, he told me that my EAD was not yet in the system and that hopefully it should be by next Tuesday. He claims that after that it should only take 2 weeks max for me to get the card. But you know how that goes... He told me I should try going back at the end of next week to see if they were able to process it and if I can get a printout of the number. Hoping that works out...

Make sure you keep the letter they gave you for future reference.

Haha that's awesome! I went yesterday to apply for mine. The guy there seemed kinda cold, barely even talked. Hmm...maybe he was batting for the other team (opposed to DACA). Then again, it was Monday morning, not exactly a thrilling day

I was pleasantly surprised. It's almost like he was hoping he could have given it to me right then and there lol. But at any rate it doesn't matter how they feel, just that we get it as soon as possible

I think you guys should double check. "Legal alien" doesnt seem like the correct option since this does not grant legal status.

Reading your comments have confused me at times Lol.

You can have one that says Not Valid for Work.

or one that says VALID for Work only with DHS authorization. I have this one, but mine says INS.

I dont think there is a Not valid for work unless. Its no stamp, not valid for work, or valid for work only.
