My application also went to Vermont and I did my Bio on the 19th of September. To be honest, I don't think that Vermont is approving applications with bio's done from the 17th to the 21st (September), they are still on the week of 10th to the 14th (September). Should probably level with your boss and tell him that you would not be approve until the end of this month. If he really wants to keep you, he wouldn't mind waiting.

Is your employer willing to wait until your EAD gets delivered? Because even if, say you got approved tomorrow it would still take wayyyyy past Monday until your EAD arrives.... Would he wait then? I was kind of worried bc the lady who did my biometrics was pretty nasty lol
It feels as though I've been waiting forever.
