I do have a question, probably has been brought up before.

What happens if you wait out the 10 days after your EAD approval? When is the SSA office able to issue a print-out then? Same thing, keep calling or come in until they tell you it's ready?

The general consensus is 10 calendar days from when USCIS approves your EAD and orders production of your card. However I have seen people get a printout earlier and some have been waiting weeks. I guess it depends on your luck and whether or not the representative is helpful.

So it's been one week since I've gone to the SSN office and no word yet. I'm not too worried since there is a four week due date. I've been so busy with school I haven't been able to check this site so just letting people know what's up.

Also, I'm working on getting my card fixed but I won't specify how until it's actually able to be fixed (for those who are aware of my problem)

^You actually sign the 'SSN card' when you get it and has to be torn out carefully out of the perforated paper it comes in.The SSN card if you get it with a Green card will not have the VALID for work with DHS authorization only with a work permit will it say that. The numbers are permanently assigned to you in the system.

Your name is printed on the card just as how you specify it on SS-5, the SSN application form. For most of us, it will be just how it appears on our EADs. Once you receive your card by mail, you sign it

Sorry but like others have said, if applying with an EAD, the card will have to say "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION". Your SSN is yours forever. When your status changes and can apply for a green card, you can eventually get a new card without that disclaimer
