Where do you guys plan to work? - Page 14

Not to be pessimistic but what will you guys do if for some reason we can not renew our work permits?
Would the employer allow you to stay working knowing your work permit has expired?
2 years is not a lot of time to build a good career that pays good i will think.

I just saying this because i think that it will be kind of a waste of time to invest a lot of time looking for a a good job that you will not be able to keep ofter you work permit expires. I also think that given the economic situation it will take time to find a good paying job reducing the period that we are allowed to legally work.

like i said before i don't want to be pessimistic i just want to think of plan B to be prepare.

In my case (4 years ago) when my work permit expired, i was canned. I stayed on for about 3 weeks after it expired but HR contacted my supervisor and that was a wrap. So I don't even wanna think about that happening again, because...its not. I've/we've come too far to let. Have a little faith. This may be a simplistic answer but i'm NOT gonna spend my time and precious energy worrying about something 2 years from now that hasn't even happened yet. I've had 4 jobless years to mull on my past. I'm looking forward to my future. Faith has gotten me this far and i know for a fact its gonna see me through. So lighten up a bit will ya?

I want a job that goes with my daughters school hours, so i wont have to worry about who will take care of her before or after school while Im still at work. Im excited because this time I will have options, i can pick and choose where i want to work. As an illegal immigrant you dont have many options nor good pay, because you dont have the papers to even be working in the first place. Thank god that there are hispanic business owners that understand you and hire you no matter what, but they can also take advantage your and your situation knowing that you need the job... Maybe Ill work for the State/City if possible, School or Hospital,.. im aiming towards one of them..

I have my EMT certification in hand, licensed for the state and county, so I'm ready to hop onto an ambulance once I get a work permit. The wait just kills me though.
