While taking a shower today (my philosophical thinking time), I thought about how violent Mexico has become. And I was reminded of this by a documentary I watched about the Zetas cartel. And if any of you remember, a Border Patrol officer was shot and killed. So I thought that the best thing to do at this point was to completely seal off the border and put as many cops there as possible, because those fucking drug cartel roaches will probably want to start killing people on this side of the border. Do you guys think it is selfish for some of us to think that way, completely sealing off the border now that WE are inside?

I don't think its selfish. Because every Mexican wants to come here, that's is why immigration has become a huge problem in the states. I only believe in granting amnesty to those who have establish their lives here, not a recent comer who can go back and live there. IDk just an opinion.

So no, I don't think it is selfish to try to protect the borders. Cartels are worse than any al qaeda terrorists, have you guys ever read el blog del narco? It just makes sense

No,It is not selfish to want to feel safe irregardless of what goes on in the immigration debate.I am not from Mexico but no one should have to feel unsafe at their residence or the country they live in.I think if the US feels threatened by such activity then seal the border.Safety is not partisan issue even though many try to make it so.

Typical mentality of a immigrant that already got something here... and don't want anyone else to get it. Reminds me of cubans, or even europeans that think they fucking own the world once they get their papers....soon you will become a republican too..

It's not about the illegal immigrants so much, it's about the drug cartels. You can't just let them run around, crossing the border whenever they want to. These guys are ruthless, and therefore should not be allowed to set foot in the United States.

Sorry but no! A Mexican only comes over here for the money. There is a lot of people that I know including old friends that said they will never set a foot on the US besides visiting. Mexico is way more fun .

But before they seal the border they have to deport you. Then they can completely seal it.

It's complicated. Given our situation, I mean we are already here. Who are we to judge? But, no, I don't think it is selfish. In my opinion, no sort of Dream Act/CIR will pass without some sort of closing of the border to silence critics. I believe its bound to happen sooner or later. It wouldn't just help with the immigration debate, it will also prevent the entry of cartels. I do not see Mexico getting any better, and the borders are not getting any safer. Mind you, I do not live near any border cities so I do not truly know.

Its sad, given our situation, that the future may mean hard working immigrants will get shut out. But, if EVERY immigrant in the world wanted to be here in the United States, it would be a terrible place. I guess it all comes down to luck.

As a Mexican Dreamer I do not want to be stereotyped as a drug-dealing, gangster who does not speak a word of English. That is my opinion, I do not mean to offend I am just putting my opinion out there. Safety is in our nature.
