SSA, SSN and wait times - Page 40

went to the SSA office today in NYC on williams st. i got my EAD card on the 24th and so I waited over 10 days I suppose, but not on purpose... I've just been so busy with everything else. :\

Anyway, Very nice people. went to office, got a ticket. Waited like a minute. Checked other on immigration status but my field officer changed it to legal alien allowed to work anyway lol. she asked me one question of whether i ever visited the us before and inputted my info. the whole process took like 10 minutes. she gave me a letter saying my card will arrive in 2 weeks or less. so i guess that's it?

can you apply for a state id/permit with just a print-out of your ssn??

She gave u ur SSN print out the same day u applied?

I got the same thing... but thats just the receipt. There is no SSN number in the letter.

Yes but you guys were verified.. Your number should be assigned that same day and you can get a print out as soon as tomorrow.

If you're not verified right then and there you get the 4week receipt with the ref #.

If you get verified there you get the 2week receipt without the Ref#.

So if i go to the office tmrw.. what do I say?

lol. I asked bc I called them today and I was told that they couldn't give it to me that I had to wait two weeks or so.

You can ask for it anytime..

Can we get a state permit, ID or DL with the print out if the state requires a SSN?
