Recap:
went on Fri (9th calendar day after Ead issue date).. guy told me that the douments needs to be verified and that usually takes 10 days after the issue date of EAD. Gave me a reference # and a phone # to call today (Wed) to check the status.

I called the 1800 number and kept pressing 0 till it says "Ok, please hold while I transfer you to an agent". Pressed #2 to wait for an agent. Waited forever.

Talked to a lady and she said that she can't help me over the phone and I need to come in to find out the status of my application.

I'll go in on Friday to see what's up and hopefully its being processed already.

You can call another office. That's what I did. Google ssa locations telephone.

hello guys i just got off the social security office an verything when so smoot i when to the one that is at city of inglewood and guys the on ly bad thing that i can say was the waiting the lady that help me with me app she was really nice took all my info an she informed that she was going to ask me some question and they were going to be record it and can be use against me so the process maybe less than 10 minutes she aske me the question and took me info and i was told that me card will
be mail to me in less than 2 weeks

I called another branch and she told me that its in the system and its pending.

You know i applied last week for my ssn, about wednesday,its been a week an they sent me a letter saying that i will receive it within the next two weeks... Anybody else got a letter like that in the mail?

UPDATE: I called my local SSA office , and the assholes told me , "Oh your app is still pending". So, then I called another office and they told me that the SSA had already assigned me a number because I was cleared yesterday. They also said I could get a print out. So, I went over and got a print out to the second location and not my local one. They said that the actual card might take 2 weeks to come in. So it's official. I have a SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER for the first time in my whole got dang life.
