Good thing I got my license a couple of years ago when Maryland had that law. I did have my driver's permit for 6 months and had to attend driving school. After that, I got my full license.

Finally more Marylanders!!!! =D I already got my EAD and SS number, but the MVA website says

Have any of you tried getting a permit/license with JUST the Social Security number? I don't want to wait until I get the card next week =/

I would like to know this as well =/. I hope MD isn't strict about this...

Actually, I was over 20 and did have a permit. I don't know if it was because of the law or just a requirement. You might want to call them and ask.

I think anyone who is applying for DL for the first time, regardless of age, has to have a learners permit first.

I remember hearing that when you are of a certain age, that does not apply. Maybe for those who are 21+?

Maybe everyone needs the permit, but do not have to wait 6 months?
