In 2006 I received a warrant for my arrest. A police officer had stopped me and issued two tickets. On the 30th day, I went to go pay them, but to my surprise, the officer had only filed one. During a camping trip, park rangers asked for ID and that's where they told me about the warrant. They handcuffed me and took me in, spent the night in a cell and was bailed the next morning. During court, the charges were dropped because the officer was not supposed to have issued the tickets separately and because I did pay the ticket that was filed.

I didn't run into issues until earlier this year. I was pulled over, around midnight, for a wrong turn into a one way... pretty much looked like I played chicken with a cop for a few seconds. Couldn't believe my luck. Anyways, I received my first misdemeanor. I was taken in and fingerprinted, then received a call from ICE. I clearly told the Spanish-accented dude, that I was a VISA overstay, that I entered through Tijuana with a passport. The a**hole gives me a felony for US-Illegal entry. So now I have that on my record as well, but my lawyer is currently clearing that up...

lol sometimes our worst enemies are our own people.

Thanks to those who replied. So I should wait for cir? Will they help? I am gonna see if I can get a greencard through my wife. Might be easier. I don't know if I'm gonna apply for the dream act. I think I am ewi too. I got smuggled through the border in a car when I was 4. They never inspected me. Well I'm bummed cuz people are telling me I have a poor chance of being approved. I just wanted my drivers license and to be able to travel. I can't even take my kids to legoland or seaworld. Scared of the checkpoints on the way there. I am blessed to have a good job/skills so I don't really need the work permit. I'm a glassblower . Love it. Wish I could be accepted for the dream act though. Been wishing about it since kindergarten. No lie.

You qualify if you are an ewi, 30 or under and don't have any felonies or significant misdemeanors.

Couple run-ins with the police where I gave my name and D.O.B.

Don't know if that would actually show up.

I know I'm qualified just worried about my 3 misdemeanors and my countless run- ins with the law. Santa Ana gang unit had contact with me several times but with nothing to arrest me for they only gave me a paper saying I was from a gang. I got 3 of those papers n gang unit has my mugshots. Oh n I still need to enroll in school to graduate or get my g.e.d I dropped out my senior year 2007.

That can't be good. The gang unit stuff can be serious. They can use that to disqualify you as a "danger to public safety" if they find that out, maybe even refer you to ICE.

I'm not trying to scare you, just being straight up with you.
