Sorry, this is totally not related to DACA but I'm feeling really anxious and some members on here give really great legal advice and I don't know who else to turn to right now.

So my boyfriend was arrested yesterday for running a red light. I don't know the details too well because his mother told me and she was very shaken up when we spoke. He ran the red light rushing for work, a cop tried to pull him over but I guess he didn't realize and he kept trying to get to work!! He went to work and 15 minutes into his shift the cops came in and they arrested him for attempting to flee... He honestly was not aware that any cops were telling him to pull over. As far as he knew he just ran a red light unnoticed. He work in a busy city area with lots of traffic so I guess it wasn't like it was just him and the cop tailing him.

He's been in jail since yesterday, he is waiting for Monday or Tuesday to go in front of the judge. Does anyone know what will happen to him? What kind of charges they'll make? Misdemeanor or felony? Will his license be suspended? Can he fight his case by saying he was not trying to flee but just didn't notice and he was trying to get to work? This is his very first offense. He's had a clean background in the past, just a few tickets. We're in CA and he is a USC.

Please help me... Again I'm sorry this is not DACA related, as I said some of you are very helpful and give great legal advice and can give me quick answers. I'm really worried and havent gotten any sleep. I just want some words of advice/wisdom.

How could he not realize that the officer wanted him to pull over?

I wish I could help you. The best thing you can do is get a lawyer.

You will need to find a lawyer for this..

And dont consider any advice given here as legal advice. With some rare exceptions, we are not lawyers and thus are not experts even if some would like to believe they are! Take what we say as advice based on personal experience only!

Visit Avvo.com
create an account and ask a lawyer what will happen. They usually answer pretty fast.
