All you ppl saying dont carry your EAD. Guess what - you're supposed to as all non-citizens are supposed to carry a document that proves their legal stay. I once got detained for having my green card at home.

And no DLs won't do. It's a tradeoff of risks.

That's only if you are going to be traveling through immigration checkpoints or if you know you will be coming in contact with Border Patrol. There is no reason as to why you need to carry your EAD for day to day tasks, like OP who took his to the park.

Here in my city there aren't Border Patrol agents roaming around so there is no reason for me to carry my EAD because there is no one I would need to prove my immigration status to.

Everything came crumbling down cuz there was no way for me to replace it....

by the way when i get approved I will make sure i pay that 380 and get a nother one

That is not accurate,Qingshu is accurate.Non-citizens are required to have their documents on them at all times.Only US citizens are exempt from carrying their documentation.

You are required to have it in case you come in contact with ICE or BP so that they can verify your immigration status. I don't ever come in contact with ICE or BP, the police isn't going to ask for my immigration status, therefore there is no need for me to carry it with me at all times and risk losing it.

Hey OP I feel so sorry for you and I totally understand you because I also might have to reapply and pay the processing fee again because I made a typo on DOB and the EAD got printed with the error... I probably can't even apply for a ssn with this EAD. . Hopefully USCIS will be nice enough to correct the problem issue without me having to reapply again..

What if you come in contact with the police? Here where I live they are very racist and I had a couple friends that had to show immigration documents to the police, they had out of state DL (NM). I dont know if it legal for them to do that, I live in Texas not AZ but i guess they do as they please.

That's illegal here in California, the police have no right to ask about your immigration status during a traffic stop or any other confrontation, unlike Arizona. Police in my city are rather nice since there is little to no crime.
