How is it that when you're in a political party, the person who believes in one thing also has believes in another that is laid out by the political party?

It's like one person who believes in torture has to be against DACA just like every single person in that party..

doesn't this alone prove that that guy isn't thinking for himself? he doesn't truly believe what he's saying but only reiterates talking point of his political party..

In my opinion, whether it's for political move or not, it still doesn't erase the fact that there were millions of dreamers like us living in limbo before DACA came to be, and they make it sound like a policy like that was never necessary to begin with. Maybe Obama's timing may have been questionable, given the time that he did it during the election year, but it wasn't as if he passed a law that requires all immigrants to vote for him in return. Republicans just failed to mention the benefits of DACA for the country because they know how large this move will impact the latino votes. It--really, really--has nothing to do with Obama "overstepping his power".
