Pretty much the military is there to protect corporate interest of oil companies and contractors. I'm really amazed on how many people are brainwashed into thinking they are protecting freedom or spreading freedom in other countries, smh....the Third Reich all over again I'm telling you.

The current wars have nothing to do with defense and are simply imperialist actions. Soldiers may not control the actions of politicians, but they do control their own. There has to be a level of ignorance of behalf of recruits to willingly enlist now knowing you'll be shipped out to kill civilians or at best people trying to defend themselves. I strongly discourage anyone here from pursuing the military unless they want to become part of a grand murder.
My two best friends are in the Air Force, one of them is a Major O-4 and the other one is a Master Sergeant E-7. If DA passed before I turn 26 I will be enlisting in a heartbeat. Since I cannot join as an officer. Now a person must be a US Citizen to be "shipped out" also they don't go out "killing civilians" Rules of engagement still apply to all.

Lol @ activists mentality.

TBH I don't really care about the defense of this country at all, it can rot in hell or have another katrina and kill rednecks for all I care, it's all about money and a better future for me and that's the sole reason for me wanting to join.

Whatever puts food on the table nomsayin.

Mods, close/delete this thread. greencardlover seems to be a troll. Look at his posts, they are anti-Obama and pro-military propaganda. Does not sound like a DREAMer at all.

Exploited? ummmm the fuck? Hold on for a minute, not long ago we were making a scratch of a living. Some of you guys still live with mommy and daddy, so you really have not being hit as hard as others. Now a military option is not for everyone. I've been to the bases, there is always a military person in my house. They are not so different than you and I. I respect your opinion, but don't go on talking about things that you do not know.

If there was a legit war then thats one thing. Some of these conflicts that we re involved in tho I cant imagine you agree with all of them. I know that most people that enlist have good intentions and are great people. Thats why it pisses me off that we send people for no good reason. And these defense contractors are making money from it.

Gulf of Tonkin incident turned out to be false, hence the Vietnam War was sold on lies
here is the NSA declassified document made public in 2005
http://www.nsa.gov/public_info/_file...nks_bogies.pdf

Weapons of Mass Destruction turned to be false, hence the Iraq War was sold on lies

What's next, Iran? what lie would they come up with next.

All these wars are being sold on lies to promote war defense contracts and secure foreign natural resources for corporate interest, that is the bottom line. US Military is there to protect those interest, not the American public.

Now if you have desire to protect those interest, then so be it, that is all on you.

So much disrespect for the military.
