Updating the employer of a new social is really easy, just tell them you were issued a new number because you had an identety theft, the problem is most of us claimed to be LPR on the I9 for, thats something we cant change, but does that matter? Will USCIS check that when we renew our permits? Many question and little answers. I talked to a lawyer she said to change the number and I wont have any problems, I hope it works out because I like my current job.

My uncle never said anything to his employer when he received his green card, one year ago.

Not to sound redundant, but identity theft is the best way to go, come up with a story about how u lost your wallet some time ago and it has since been used by multiple people, not just one, so SS issued you a new one so that you didn't go through this any more. Happens all the time, totally believable and plausible. That's the best route to go without being outed.

Well they always tell me I'm important to the company and they don't want to see me go. I told them that if i was that important than why my check doesn't show it. It sucks about your situation though.

I'm in your situation. They tell you you're important and act as if they're doing you a favor underpaying you.
I'm also leaving my job, they don't know it yet.

the whole identity theft thing sounds good and all, but I don't want to lie to them
I know i have this job based on a lie, but I'm so sick and tired of them :P

question. When we do our taxes doesn't the employer also get a letter from SSA saying that our SS# and our name don't match? Then they know that our SS# is false right??

Amen To that!!! To Both of you. Same boat here. I'm thinking about quitting my Job they dont necessarily tell me how important i am, but I KNOW I AM. 'Cause If i wasnt here they wouldve closed down the place long time ago. I get paid 11.50 per hour issue is that sometimes they dont pay me on time. At some points my check has been delayed a month and a half =( Hellooo My bills dont wait that long. I know i shoulve move on already but because of my status I never had the courage to do so. My EAD now will be my Courage. Best of Luck to all of you. =)

I manage a fast food place right now. I work long hours and sometime don't even get a day off. As soon as I get my EAD I'm looking for a job, and I'm out of there. Too much stress, and I don't feel like I get anything in return.

Well not necessarily if you just received the social and you shouldn't have been working using that social. How could you have been working on a social security number you received in November 2012 back in January 2012? I know taxes are paid quarterly by employees so that is really my question. Do we get one 1099, W-2, etc. or more than 1?
