When dd I say I hated people who love their country? I love this country and the people, not the corporate & special interests that is bringing it to its knees, so why would I join the military whose only purpose is to protect the same interests that is destroying this country? O_o

You have to understand that not everyone that enlists in the military sings up because they want to "fight for our freedom". For some, it might have been the only possible route to take after High School. Hating on someone like that is like hating on your mailman for putting junk mail in your mailbox, they're just doing their job.

I went to a Senior Military College for school and believe me I would love to be able to serve in the military. Plus serving during war time, which according to the DoD we are in one, facilitates you getting citizenship. Citizenship plus a college degree from a Senior Military College would equal to officer rank for me.

Good valid points. There is actually a documentary that does a very good job of explaining the military industrial complex and its role in the Iraq War. Disturbing.

just because you're scared of joining doesn't mean you should put the troops down.
The u.s military might be involved in more than they should, but they also help people more than they should.
That guy seems like a bitch in all honesty. Doing every single thing he is told, he SHOULD feel guilt. Being physical with a kid? There's moments one has to stand up for what is right and take the punishment.
I would love to join as a medic and try to help people, of any race, from any country.
Killing rednecks? How's your racism any better than the one comming from people against the dream act? We should be better than that.
