Hello everyone, I've been lurking around this forum ever Since DACA took its place,
I'm a Male, 20yrs old, I currently reside in Texas (near Austin)..
I am currently enrolled in a community college, going for my Associates Degree in HVAC/R

I'm just like you all, here in this country with a purpose, and a big Dream, to prosper, and the pursuit of happiness. (:

God Bless you all.

I do not know many dreamers, apart from my brother, I know Tx grants in state tuition if you meet a certain criteria, but I've always wanted to ask someone else, that's in the same situation, how they cope with a limited amount of tuition. I know we are lucky to live in Texas, I do not take that for granted, but this semester I was unable to go to school due to rising tuition costs. So how does it work for you?

Yeah, its a struggle that we have to live with, unfortunately.... and to be honest with you, I'm paying my own tuition... i have tried to apply for TASFA, but since i do not have a job, and cant file taxes, i do not have tax returns to show, so i gave up on that...
& so im taking it slow. i have been in college for 2 yrs already, and i am barely halfway, because i cant afford being full time at the moment, and so im sorry if im not of much help... ):
& sorry that you couldn't enroll in a college/university...

It's ok and you don't have to prove you submit taxes, if you live with your parent, submit a notorized letter, but I know that some colleges may have changed their regulations regarding that, and it's stupid bc obviously you are illegal and more than likely so are the parents so how in the hell are we suppose to present income tax forms. It is stupid.

That's good keep it up and hopefully the EAD lands you a better job. I would pay for my own but I moved to SA from another part of Texas to attend UTSA I was accepted, I even had a work permit from my pending case for Temporary Protected Status, but unfortunately it was denied and hence the permit voided, and I received some tuition assistance but it wasn't enough and I was not in the position to work and pay off a loan bc I couldn't. So yea it's a struggle but the good things in life don't come easy we really have to work for them, especially us, dreamers.
