I am from Portland too! and have been looking too with no luck. lol
It seems like you are ahead of me, I just had my biometrics taken on 10-17-12. Hopefully you will get approved soon.
I'm not sure about being approved faster than others since I think the apps are being processed in Nebraska, and based on what I have read, Nebraska seems to be kind of slow. Please let me/us know when you get approved!
