I don't understand why my application is taking so long. They received my app the 22nd and did my biometrics the 21st. Somehow mechanic303 got accepted faster than me.

Did you submit a lot of documents? My theory is that I sent a lot of documents that it slowed down the agent.

Or maybe my name is so common in Hispanics that there are a bunch of criminals named after me?

I did not send a significant amount of paperwork. For example I sent my High school transcripts and bank statement to prove I was in the USA. I went to HS from 2006-2010 And I had a bank account from October 2010 to present. I just sent the necessary things everything they asked for I sent. My cover letter also had everything how it was listed. Also left a sticky note for every section like me proving my presence, my identity and so on. I think that is what helped speed my case organization and everything in order so basically all the officer had to do was read and hit the approval button. (If there is a button) hope this helps

i feel like it takes forever.
i did mine on the 14th and still waiting.
Its been more than a month and i got tired of calling uscis to check the status.
if you at least can check the status of your application online, dont complain.
I hope it gets approved next week.

We have the same lin#. I think ur #34. Ive watched lin#s around me get approved except me... I think my name raised a red flag and it may be a while before they realize im not a criminal.

I guess you're right, I shouldn't be mad. The thing that bothers me now is that I have several job offers coming up and I am going to look stupid if I don't my EAD and SS# in hand.

I'm 100% surprised mine only took 17 days (bio on 10/2). I didn't do a walk in, and sent in a moderate amount of evidence. My brother and I sent ours together and I don't know if he has heard back, so we'll see.

I'm thinking it might depend on what state you send it from. Maybe there's just less apps from Utah so our cases moved faster?
