Had a question about traveling down to San Diego

So.. about a month and a half ago I did my biometrics (walk in) and I have not really received anything back.. but this coming up weekend ihave to go down to sd.. Im sure my paperwork went well, i have a clean record and stuff there's simply no reason why my app would get rejected.. i mean they already accepted it thats why they assigned me a biometrics test so.. my question is could i go down to sd.? i know theres like some type of garita/ checkpoint but its rarely there. i most likely wont be driving should i be concerned? or worry or anything at all?? After all didnt Obama admins say no more deportation for students with a clean record? I dont see why i cannot go..

You have not been granted Deferred Action yet. Being scheduled a Biometrics appointment doesn't mean that you are automatically approved if your record comes back clean. An adjudicator doesn't even begin looking at your case until after your Biometrics come back.

About traveling through an Immigration Checkpoint while your case is pending, I'm not sure, you have not been granted Deferred Action, so you do not have Legal Presence yet.

if it was me i wouldn't risk it and plus you aren't out of the woods till you actually get approved just because you had your biometrics done doesn't necessarily mean you will be approved so just wait i'm sure whoever is going to SD can make the trip without you and don't risk it!!!

As others have stated, I wouldn't risk it. Lets say you are stopped: It is going to create a lot of frustration and time wasted. It would probably consume all the time needed to do what you were originally going to do in the first place.

If I were you, I wouldn't take the risk of going down there without my EAD. If you can wait until that day, it would be best. You should still be "in the shadows" ...for now anyways.

Avoid unnecessary trouble till you get approved despite what Obama said.

honestly, i've been to san diego so many times and it was FINE! i personally didn't drive. the checkpoint they have is an agriculture check point. they ask if you have fruits or veggies in your car. if you give no reason to be suspicious then you're fine.

as for deferred action, you have not been approved yet. having a biometrics appointment means nothing about your case being approved.

I went to san Diego about a month ago and i was ok. We left on a friday morning and on the way there there was no checkooint. Although i glanced the other side of the freeway and i could see that there was a checkpoint and they were waving people through. When we came back on a sunday afternoon...the checkpoint was closed

I went about 2 months ago for a friends birthday. Although I do have a CA license (needed it for the clubs) and absolutely no accent. Never ran into any problems to or from San Diego, and even if I did, there's not enough probable cause to make it worthwhile.
