10 day wait after DACA before SSN - Page 92

Still waiting on DHS for verification also. Applied for SSN on 10/1/12. Gotta keep waiting...

This is taking longer than I expected, maybe by Friday we'll be able to do so.

are you constantly calling them for status? 27 days... wow that's a record... hope mine doesn't take that long..

i am thinking of going to SSA tomorrow and ask for the last time... that's my 2nd week as stated in the mail... and if that doesn't work I might just ask to cancel my application so I can try submitting to a better, faster, and nicer people... LOL

I was in the same situation as you.. I applied on 10/5 .but the lady that interviewed me looked like she hav had a stroke. I could barely understand wat she was saying n she couldnt even movel. So then I guess I went before my name was on the database n she gave me the paper that says it ll take about 4 weeks.
So I decided to call yesterday n the lady on the phone says..." weve
' JuST verified you n you should receive ur card within a week. "
I was kinda mad cuz the first lady from the office must have buried my documents n never
bothered checking the database again

I applied for my ssn on Monday 10-22-12 and I just called to see if my number was already available and it is so I'm going for my printout after work

I applied 2 weeks ago after waiting 11 days since my approval. I received a letter stating that I may have to wait 4 weeks before they process my app (verification). I decided to be patient and wait a week. I called last week and they told me that they can't give me any info over the phone and that I should just wait. I woke up this morning very angry over being in "limbo", so I decided to go over there this afternoon and bust their balls. After waiting for an hour I was called up and gave them my letter. The lady helping me was very nice and it turns out that I was verified right away when I applied! ...and for some reason the app wasn't processed fully or "pushed through"! She finalized everything and told me to come back tomorrow for a print-out (with a valid reason). Long story short if I hadn't been patient and just inquired sooner, I would've had my ss card in hand by now.
So for all of u who wait the 10 days and still receive a "4 week" notice, go back there every day, bust their balls if u have to, until u get ur number. Patience helped me with my EAD process but this is a whole new animal...an inconsistent one at that. Do not be afraid to rip them a new one if necessary. Hopefully I can save some of u from going through the hell that I endured.

Oh no. That's a lot. If they do a paper trail check , which usually works , that can take up another month.
