Thanks, but not really. I have been applying like crazy because I'm tired of waiting tables. The interview I received yesterday was because a friend of mine works there. Another friend of mine got me an interview at HP for tomorrow, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I'm two years away from taking the exam, but I still put it down so potential employers can make an estimate.

I say give your best guess, and you can always change it accordingly.

Im trying to write a resume but I have never had a legal job before or college education. Ive been doing hair for the last couple years. I wonder if I can write that on a resume as job experience?

Yes you can, and you should. You can write any experience you have on your résumé. On top of my job I would babysit sometimes a little girl and I did it for about 3 year maybe 3 times a month. At school they have a career center and they told me to make sure i added it, to write down "Part Time Nanny. From 2006-2009" . Any experience counts.

Start volunteering y'all if you have no experience! It's the best thing in the world because:
  • You give back to your community
    Network/meet people
    Looks amazing on your resume
    Gain Experience
Might even get some job offers!
And it's a stress reliever makes you feel good about yourself!

Yea you don't get paid $$$ but what I just mentioned is worth it! Look around your 'hood there's lots of places that need help like schools, community centers, clinics, hospitals, animal shelters, etc, etc. You might even find something related to your career interests. You don't have to be an overachiever like me (lol) just donate a bit of your time whenever you're free. Go online also and google volunteering in your area.

I landed a full-time temp position! I was worried because I don't have an SSN yet, but it all worked out.

I told the hiring manager that I have a work permit, but it'll be a few weeks before I get my SSN. He talked to accounting and they told me I can start working right away, but they'll have to pay me after I give them the SSN. I said that's fine.
Then I remembered my ITIN (stupid of me to forget), so I told them I have one, and they said that's all they needed so welcome aboard

I think I'll pay a visit to SSA tomorrow and just apply for SSN with the typo on my EAD. I hope this process doesn't get super complicated, especially when it was USCIS's mistake.
