Call USCIS, they say wait a month. I do a service request and I havent heard from USCIS. I make an info-pass appointment (went on Oct 22) and they tell me I have to re-file for a replacement. I ask if I still gotta pay the $380, they say yes since it wasn't their fault it was lost because they got receipt of delivery.

I re-sent the application along with the check and it was delivered today Oct 23rd now I'm waiting to see how long it takes. They give you the standard window of 4-6 months. Also, I went to SSA to explain my situation and hopefully get a number and they kindly turned me down.

Side notes:
I filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs against my post office/post master in hopes of getting reinbursed. They will investigate.
I filed a fraud/theft case with the Federal Inspector agency that handles mail fraud and they will investigate.

Now I'm all anxious it will happen all over again when they send me the new on . Not a good feeling.
i am very sorry and i wish you the best of luck

This is making me worry...
USCIS screwed up my sister's name too, and so I requested for the name change and they have given me referral numbers and letters stating that they will "review at processing times" (i765) and that "all corrections and changes are determined at the time of adjudication" (i821D). I was planning to just wait until I receive the EAD, because I would assume that they would correct it as they stated that they would..

Did you guys, who received their EAD with typographical error, request for name update and received referral numbers and letters confirming that they have received your requests?

OP has stated that he/she had requested for name corrections, but I am not sure if he/she also received letters after couple of days, regarding his/her request for name corrections.

Anyone know?

In this case it may just be easier to legally change your names to whatever is on your EAD!

Y'all just got Ellis Island'd! Welcome to america!

I'm so glad I found people I can vent with.

I've been sort of MIA since I got my work permit but here's my experience.

Well I got my work permit card (yay!) and I noticed it expires in 2013. I was like "wtf?" my deferred action is for 2014. So I called to get it expedited as well. Now I have to wait SIXTY DAYS for a RESPONSE from VSC. How the hell do they mess up something so easily when they've been running extensive background checks? I'm so mad.

Also, it's been 4 AND A HALF WEEKS since I applied for my SSN and STILL NOTHING.

I called SS a few days ago and they said it's "with immigration"
I called Immigration and they said it's "with Social Security"

My lawyer is looking into it. But damn, I thought the government was better than this.

okay so i just spoke to someone from USCIS and it turns out that both times they've sent me emails but thanks to freaking MSN i never received them well, anyways she did expedite my process thank god for my husband's military background or else i would have had to wait a lot longer. She was very kind and she read to me the email and i have to send my EAD card to my service center but she told me to send only copies of the i765 receipt and the approval letter so i am not left with nothing. So i will be sending this thing out probably tomorrow.
