So you can't just show up and take the test now??
well, that's just swell... I was hoping I'd be able to take it next week. sigh.

Does anybody know If i we can get the Texas Id straight with the EAD? I dont wanna have to gi get my ssn first. Or is the ssn required?

You don't HAVE to make an appointment. You can just show up. But they are FULL so you may not get tested that day. It's just gonna be in your luck. But I plan on going anyway very early next week.

So those appointments they have you make online are not all the driving tests available that day? Because my DPS office is full until January according to the online calendar . I'd rather have my license before the end of this year. Right now I'm applying for my over 18 permit DL after my 6-hour adult driving course certificate gets here in the mail. I have my EAD and SSN ready. By the way, how long does it take to receive one of those permit DLs? I hope no more than a week.
