You can't drive yourself to take the driving test.
I didn't drive myself, I went with my brother but he had to go to work so he pretty much dropped me off there while I was in line. I went to the Montebello DMV and passed it, it's all good. It only lasted about 10-15 min and at one point I caught up to the person that went before me.I only got 2 mistakes for not looking enough at an intersection.

Helped me tons actually, very well worth the $99 it cost.
my dad was telling me about that too! It costs 120 for the school he spoke with but the good thing is that they take you on the streets that the dmv will take you on and that way they can give you very specific pointers. I'm considering doing it because I've only been driving for a couple of months and it would make me feel more confident going into the test.

My advice is to do it. They took me around those streets too and it helped me a lot. I have been driving for 6 years and I have really bad habits so in an hour they all got cleaned up. I would highly recommend it. Without it I would not have passed honestly. I was so nervous since I scheduled the exam but after the practice with the driving school all the nerves were gone. Go for it! $120 very well worth.
