Thanks.
I filled out their names, but check marked that I did not know their ssn #s.

Are people doing the 10 day wait anymore? I would like to get some updates on that.

I think the 10 day wait start from when your EAD is approved. So by the time
You get your EAD in the mail, you can apply for your social security number. You don't have
To wait.

You mean 9B and 10B?

Quote:
9.B., 10.B. If you are applying for an original Social Security card for a child under age 18, you MUST show the parents' Social Security numbers unless the parent was never assigned a Social Security number. If the number is not known and you cannot obtain it, check the “unknown” box.
13.
If you're 18 or over, you don't need to fill this section.

I left mine blank although the clerk did ask me to confirm my father and mother's name (had a "not valad for work" SS card/number). I get to keep my original number and get a new card.

For those who received their cards/numbers?

Does our card have any restrictions on them? Also what number does the SS# start with?

I haven't applied for my card yet but when I do I will be sure to let you know. It will be a regular social security number like U.S citizens. The only difference is that it will say for work purposes other than that no restrictions. You can file taxes, take out credit cards & over time even loans no limits. Just build your credit.
