It will be a very good proof of your identity besides your passport. It's not a requirement but on the other hand it's quite easy to go and translate it at your consulate. Me for example, I didn't necessarily need my birth certificate translated cause I had my old passport and my current passport copies, but I wanted to make it easier on who ever reads over my application and show them I'm serious about the entire process by providing all documents.

Hello Everyone,

I have read about this Act but am still confused as to the age requirement.

As mentioned above:
"You cannot be the age of 31 or older as of June 15, 2012, to be considered for deferred action for childhood arrivals."

But in the uscis.gov website it states the following under Age Requirements:
"At least 15 years old at the time of submitting your request and not over 31 years of age as of June 15, 2012."

Since I am exactly 31 and will be 32 this November 2012... I really need to know if I qualify or not?.. Help please!

I would also like to know if anyone knows of a good lawyer in the LA area I can guide myself with through this process?

Thanks

As I understand you had to be 30 on June 15, 2012 to be eligible for deferred action. I would call USCIS hotline at 1-800-375-5283 and ask before you waste money on an attorney.

Hi Cali grl, anyone that was still 30 years old (NOT YET 31) on June 15, 2012 and meets the additional requirements qualifies.

Do they read our paper documents we sent or do they only read the scanned version of it?

I have a question for you all. I'm speculating why some people are taking much longer than others to get approved. Do you think there might be some correlation between sending too much evidence and sending just enough evidence? My packet was huge, about 50 pages, and I'm basically passing the 75 day mark from since my filing date. Some people think that maybe some service centers are slower than others, but do you think the amount of evidence might also be a factor?
